Abstract:
Conductance of graphene pn junctions may oscillate with various dependencies, such as carrier density, magnetic field, or even the position of the pn junction. In this talk, various mechanisms giving rise to the oscillation are discussed, including Fabry-Perot interference, snake states, and valley-isospin. Recent experiments revealing these mechanisms are supported by our quantum transport simulations based on tight-binding models [1], which allow for not only gate- and field-dependent conductance calculations but also real-space imaging of local current densities. Keys to such quantum transport simulations [2] will also be briefly introduced.
