學歷:國立臺灣大學化學系學士、美國柏克萊加州大學博士、美國麻省理工學院博士後研究。
經歷:美國賓夕法尼亞大學化學系教授暨系主任,美國赫煦曼-麥肯尼終身講座教授,美國 APS 化學物理分會的主席,美國天普大學科技學院院長兼任國際事務副教務長 (2012-2016)、國際事務副校長 (2017-2022)。
研究領域:物理化學、膠體與界面科學領域
榮譽:榮獲古根漢獎金、德國洪堡德獎金、科布倫茨學會和應用光譜學學會光譜學獎、美國光學學會利平科光譜學獎、美國化學學會膠體與表面化學朗繆爾講座獎、日本森野講座、美國公立大學協會馬龍獎、義大利政府頒贈騎士明星勳章、臺大傑出校友等。
