Bio: Prof. Liu currently leads a research group at the National Tsing Hua University, specializes in investigating the fundamental properties of emerging two-dimensional materials, focusing on their electrical, optical, and mechanical aspects. Before joining NTHU, Prof. Liu earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in January 2014, with a focus on room temperature graphene photodetectors. Subsequently, he spent 1.5 years at Northwestern University, Materials Science & Engineering, working on atomically thin optomechanics. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Physics Department at the University of Washington, concentrating on integrating 2D materials with nanophotonics. Prof. Liu has co-authored 30 publications, resulting in multiple patents.
