化學系各位成員大家好：

化學系館於2/23(五)上午5:28左右，七樓712實驗室火災警報發報，火勢約於半小時後撲滅。起火點為其中一座排煙櫃，所幸櫃內無存放過多溶劑，櫃門也有拉下，且實驗室走道並未存放廢液，因此火災沒有蔓延至藥品櫃，亦未波及該實驗室以外之空間。目前並未發現事發實驗室有管理上任何疏失，在此再次提醒同學們實驗室良好管理（藥品資料、平面配置圖、例行檢查）的重要性。

At about 5:28 a.m. on February 23 in the Department of Chemistry, a fire alarm was triggered in the 712 laboratory on the seventh floor, and the fire was extinguished about half hour later.The fire started in one of the fume hoods. Fortunately, there was no excessive solvent stored in the hood, the hood’s door was pulled down, and there was no waste liquid stored in the laboratory corridor. Therefore, the fire did not spread to the chemical cabinet, nor affect outside the laboratory space.

After on-site inspections by the Fire Department and the NTU-EHS Center, no management negligence was found in the laboratory.

Here, we would like to remind all members again of the importance of good laboratory management (chemical information, lab layout, routine inspection).
