各位化學系成員大家好：

7/10（四）17:58-17:59時，有同學穿著實驗衣，搭乘系館客梯從3樓至5樓，此舉違反本系環安衛守則「在實驗場所以外之公眾地方不得穿著實驗衣，或配戴任何保護手套…」之規定，客梯內部與其他乘客可能沾染到實驗衣上的化學藥品，此舉不單違反本系環安衛規定，且嚴重威脅其他搭乘電梯的老師與學生的人身安全。

根據本系環安衛規定，違規成員將依第一次違規處理，除必須重新接受一般安全衛生教育訓練三小時外(由實驗場所借用系上會議室辦理)，本系將停止其門禁卡及使用系上所有共同儀器之權利1個月，另禁止進出所屬學生休息室與實驗室2星期。

成員如果被發現停權期間仍在實驗室工作，系主任得立即召開緊急系務會議，討論是否立即封閉該實驗室或對成員處以永久停權之處分。

Dear all,

On Thursday, July 10, between 17:58 and 17:59, a student was observed wearing a lab coat while taking the department's passenger elevator from the 3rd floor to the 5th floor. This action violates the department’s EHS regulations, which clearly state that "lab coats or protective gloves must not be worn in public areas outside laboratory premises."

Such behavior poses a significant safety risk, as chemicals on the lab coat may contaminate the elevator interior and expose other passengers to potential hazards. It not only breaches departmental safety rules but also seriously endangers the health and safety of faculty and students using the elevator.

According to the department’s EHS regulations, the violator will be treated as a first-time offender. In addition be required to retake a 3-hour general EH&S training course in a departmental meeting room (organized by the research group), his access card and the right to use all public equipment in the department will be suspended for one month, and access to the student's office and laboratory will be banned for two weeks.

If the member is found to be working in a laboratory during the suspension period, the department Chair may call for an emergency meeting to discuss whether the laboratory should be immediately closed or if permanent suspension of the member’s access will be enforced.
