Abstract: Nonlinear optics was born 50 years ago immediately after laser was invented. This talk will give a brief survey on the past, present, and future of the field and discuss how it has impacted many areas of science and technology over the decades.
Brief Bio: 沈元壤院士為非線性光學領域的先驅者，其工作遍及非線性光學的重要領域；尤其對研究光與物質在半導體、液晶、表面與介面中的交互作用有深遠的影響。沈教授目前為美國加州大學柏克萊分校教授、中央研究院院士、美國國家科學院院士。此次克洛爾講座演講將對非線性光學五十年歷史作回顧與展望！
