【Abstract】
Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) enables observation of analyte ions in terms of their molecular weights. Although sample preparation and operation of instruments are quite easy compared with other soft ionization methods, there are several drawbacks. In this study, we investigated desorption and ionization mechanisms by spectroscopic methods, and we developed useful techniques to overcome drawbacks in MALDI.
