Positions immediately available at Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology, Academia Sinica, Nankang, Taipei.
A chemical biology research program will focus on two major aspects of research on the function and mechanism of key DNA enzymes, including topoisomerases and helicases. (1) We will utilize genetic engineering and molecular design to examine the molecular mechanism of DNA machines like topoisomerases and helicases. These biochemical approaches will be supported and enhanced with modern biophysical techniques. We will employ single molecule imaging by FRET to monitor the structural dynamics. (2) We will screen for anti-canter drugs that target against human topoisomerases and characterize them using biophysical, biochemical, and pharmacological approaches. Persons with Ph D or MS or BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, or Cell Biology, who have a strong interest in one of the above programs, are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with Drosophila genetics is also welcome. The salary will be comparable to those provided by NSC. 研究內容:
研究關鍵DNA酵素(topoisomerase and helicase)的生物功能與作用機制,主要研究方向如下:
(1) 利用遺傳工程學與分子設計來研究拓樸異構酶和解旋酶的分子作用機
制。利用新穎的生物物理技術,如螢光共振能量轉移FRET(Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer)所提供的單一分子影像訊息來研究蛋白結構動力學。
(2) 篩選抗癌新藥物。利用生物物理,生物化學,及藥學原理來研討這類對拓樸異構酶作用之新藥物。
